Good Things Continue
Version 1.6.0 - April 26, 2020
Automatic Routing of Smaller Trucks
Planners now have more flexibility in selecting vehicle quantities for the portion of the map being routed. RouteMAX will automatically put stops on smaller vehicles (pups or straight trucks) when required. At the same time, RouteMAX will put some shipments into a smaller truck than needed if that’s the best way to reduce mileage (as when a regular stop is next door to a straight truck stop). Look for Pup or Straight Truck (Bobtail) icons in the Shipments and Stops grids and filters to know which stops will go on those equipment types.

Entering trailer counts is easy with the self-explanatory interface, and users can set the last wave cutoff time there, too. NOTE: To choose zero for an equipment type, enter a “0” in the field.

When routing is finished, users will see a list of completed routes, and, if needed, a list of “_9” routes, which contain stops that could not be routed. RouteMAX leaves these stops for the user to handle manually.

Tip: If the late-arriving shipments are expected only slightly later than the last wave cutoff time, try setting the last wave cutoff to just after the IB ETA of the last stops (e.g., 10:17 instead of 10:00 to catch stops with an IB ETA of 10:15). This action will cause RouteMAX to put those stops into efficient routes with no need to manually route them after optimization finishes.
Ability to Hide Closed Routes
If all the bills on some routes are in CITY MANIFEST status, clicking the new “Open Routes” filter will hide those routes. With the filter applied, only routes still waiting for bills to be loaded will appear in the Routes grid.

Visibility of Delivery Windows for All Appointments
Previously, appointment windows of 08:00 to 17:00 were hidden (as they are for non-appointment shipments). Now the grids will display the time windows of all appointment shipments.

Other Improvements & Bug Fixes:
This release’s behind-the-scenes improvements include improved map performance, and better ways of honoring the available number of trailers. We are always striving to make RouteMAX even better for our valued users!
